A highly recommended client is seeking a highly experienced, qualified and professional teacher to provide a homeschooling environment for their young son.

The young boy is excelling in his learning and development and the Governess/Teacher will continue to encourage Gus learning by following a home school program and meet all education needs in all subjects.

As a teacher, your main responsibilities will be to plan and provide structured classes, fun and engaging activities and interactive sessions inline with the American curriculum and homeschooling requirements. The family would also like their child to learn an additional language – Spanish, Italian or French considered. In addition to this, you will act as an appropriate role model/mentor to him as well as promote good manners, teach etiquette and promote learning at every opportunity.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with previous experience of working in private households. Experience of teaching in a primary school and achieving good results with children of this age is desirable. Speaking an additional language is desirable – Spanish, Italian or French.

This is a live out position with no accommodation provided, therefore only suited to candidates located close by in New York.

The family have a second home in Aspen and will spend time through the year at each of their homes (New York City and Aspen). The family may also travel during the summer months and you will be required to travel and continue the educational programme during trips, using new environments and locations as opportunities to learn.

The working schedule will be 5 days per week working up to 8 hours per day. Flexibility will be required.

The family has a nanny therefore are duties will be minimal.
