Duke and Duchess International is a British agency placing highly-educated and experienced nannies, mannies, Norland nannies, governesses, governors, teachers and private tutors to homes across the world.

Our candidates are native English speakers from the United Kingdom and across the world from English speaking counties and can be selected to match your needs and requirements. All candidates have a high standard of English, but some are also fluent in other languages too, including Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Mandarin.

The average salary ranges from £850 to £1400 per week, and depends on the experience and qualifications of the candidate. We urge clients to look at the higher end of this range to attract the very best candidates, and ensure you have the widest possible choice.

Governesses/governors work full time and spend a much larger amount of time with the child, fully immersing them in languages. Their duties include organising educational and leisure activities, whether at home or abroad.

In addition to teaching the child traditional subjects, they are also responsible for their cultural awareness, helping them to have a broad view of the world and society. This will include teaching etiquette and manners.

The ideal governor/governess will be a positive role model for the child to look up to.

Private tutors work part-time (15 hours or less each week), teaching children for a set number of hours, to be agreed with your family. You can expect a tutor to provide stimulating, interactive learning sessions for your child. They can be a great choice for those working towards a particular exam or stage of their schooling where a little extra input is needed.
