Do I need to be a native English speaker to work with Duke & Duchess International?
Duke and Duchess International place candidates from a range of nationalities. Although our main focus is on native English speakers we also place bilingual candidates (French, Spanish, German, Mandarin etc.). Please do only apply for roles that meet your language abilities.

What is the average salary for a Governess, Governor and Nanny?
The salary will depend on the package on offer and the requirements the clients have. The average salary is approximately £800 – £1,300 per week for a full-time position.
What is the average length of a contract for a position with Duke & Duchess International?
Duke & Duchess International requires that our permanent candidates make a minimum one-year commitment to a family, although it is typical for our candidates to stay with families for much longer. Candidates seeking temporary work are required to fulfil the term of the contract advertised.
How long will it take me to find a job?
Each client works to different time scales – some one week, others can take up to six months. We are only able to work to our clients' requirements and their availability.
How do I apply for a job?
You can only apply for a role once you are a registered candidate. Once registered you can apply for any role by visiting our website and pressing the 'Apply' button underneath the job description, or alternatively email one of the team. Please make sure you meet the requirements of each position before applying.
What is a DBS, and do I need one?
A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service check) is a criminal record check in the UK. All candidates must hold one or be willing to undertake one to be considered as a candidate with Duke and Duchess International. Please note: this may not be called a DBS in your native country, but is still required.
