Full-time – Rota Governess/Teacher (live in)

Full-time English-speaking Rota Governess/Teacher required for two girls aged 5 and 7, based between the UK and Dubai. Salary 25,000–30,000 AED per month. Live-in. Start ASAP. 

A private family is seeking a qualified, experienced and engaging Rota Governess/Teacher to support their two daughters, aged 5 and 7, alongside the current Governesses, with their education, academic development and wider interests.

The children are currently based permanently in the UK, with time spent in Dubai during school holidays. From July, the position will become permanently based in Dubai. International travel will also form part of the role, and the successful candidate must be flexible and comfortable maintaining continuity in the girls’ education while travelling.

As a Governess/Teacher, you will take responsibility for supporting the girls’ learning both alongside and beyond the school curriculum. Duties will include assisting with homework and school projects, reinforcing key academic areas, providing additional tuition where required, encouraging strong study habits and creating engaging educational activities tailored to each child’s individual needs and interests.

You will be expected to monitor academic progress, identify areas where additional support may be beneficial and provide structured, age-appropriate learning that complements the children’s school education. The family would particularly welcome a candidate with 11+ preparation experience, who can help build strong academic foundations as the girls progress through school.

A background or strong interest in music would also be highly advantageous, and candidates who speak Spanish, French or Latin in addition to English will be viewed favourably.

The successful candidate will work as part of an established rota alongside the family’s current Governesses. The working pattern will range from 2 weeks on/2 weeks off up to 1 month on/1 month off, depending on the family’s schedule and need. Flexibility around the working pattern is essential.

While on duty, the Governess/Teacher will provide 24/7 cover. Accommodation will be provided in both the UK and Dubai, consisting of a private bedroom and bathroom within the family homes.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher (PGCE/QTS), with strong experience supporting primary-aged children. Being first aid trained is essential. The family are looking for someone warm, energetic, intellectually engaging and highly organised, who can act as a positive role model and build a strong educational relationship with both girls.
