Full-time English-speaking SEN Governess required in London for G7, salary £1600 – £1700 gross per week, Live-out, Start February.
A highly recommended family is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and proactive SEN Governess to support their daughter, who has recently been diagnosed with Autism.
As a SEN Governess, you will provide consistent and reassuring care by following the child’s daily routines and creating a structured environment in which she can feel secure and confident. You will promote her development through play-based learning, structured activities, and creative games tailored to her individual needs and interests. The position includes planning and accompanying the child on fun, stimulating, and educational outings, particularly those that involve nature and outdoor exploration. You will work alongside therapists and other professionals involved in the child’s development and follow through on any recommended strategies or activities. Help support the child’s social, emotional, and sensory development in a gentle and positive manner. Maintain a calm, patient, and caring presence that fosters trust and engagement.
In addition, this is a team-based role working in a fully staffed household alongside the current nanny, the parents, and other professionals involved in the child’s care and development. The child is highly creative, enjoys outdoor exploration, and thrives in a nurturing, structured, and engaging environment. You will be patient, intuitive, and confident in supporting the child with additional needs while promoting her independence, confidence, and joy through play, routine, and educational outings.
The ideal candidate will be a flexible, energetic, kind, and fun individual, holding 5+ years of previous experience as a SEN Governess. Experience working with children with Autism is essential.
The family is keen to find the right candidate for the role who will work well with their current nanny and stay with them long term.
The working schedule will be 5/2 with Saturday and Sunday as days off working 40 hours per week.
International travel is required.
This is a live-out position, with no accommodation provided; therefore only suitable to candidates located in London. Holding a valid driver’s license is essential for this role.
