Full-time – Governess (live in)

Full-time English-speaking Governess required in San Francisco, USA for G2. Salary £5,000 gross per week. Live-in. Start ASAP.

A warm and welcoming family is seeking an exceptional, highly experienced Governess at the peak of her career to join their household and take a leading role in the care, education and overall development of their young daughter, aged 2.

As a Governess, you will take the lead in the child’s educational and personal development, creating a stimulating and nurturing environment where she can flourish. Through engaging, play-based learning and carefully planned activities, you will support her language, social, emotional and cognitive development while fostering independence, confidence and curiosity. As a trusted mentor and positive role model, you will help ensure she thrives in every aspect of her upbringing, naturally incorporating European manners, etiquette and excellent social skills throughout her daily routine.

The family is particularly keen to find a candidate who speaks French, Italian or Spanish fluently, with a second language being highly desirable.

The family home is fully staffed with a House Manager, housekeepers, chefs and 24/7 security. The successful candidate must be an exceptional team player who is comfortable working collaboratively within a highly professional private household.

The ideal candidate will be an established and highly accomplished Governess at the peak of her career, with extensive experience supporting young children within UHNW or high-profile private households. She should have a strong educational background, solid experience working within schools or educational settings, and a proven ability to take full responsibility for a child’s educational and developmental programme. A warm, engaging personality, excellent interpersonal skills, discretion and a genuine passion for child development are essential.

The candidate must be fluent in English, with fluency in French, Italian or Spanish. A love of travel and a positive, cultured outlook on life would be highly valued. The client is happy to provide a working visa for the right candidate. 

The working schedule will be 5 days per week with 2 days off, working up to 16 hours per day from 7:00 am. The child has a daily nap of approximately 2.5 hours, during which downtime will be provided. Flexibility will be required during periods of international travel and for the occasional morning at weekends.

The family is seeking a long-term, career-focused Governess who is engaging, adaptable and exceptionally capable, and who is looking to become a valued and trusted part of the child’s upbringing for many years to come.

This is a live-in position, with a self-contained apartment provided within the family home.

Requirements:

Exceptional, highly experienced Governess at the peak of her career
Fluent English speaker
Fluent in French, Italian or Spanish
Extensive experience within UHNW, VVIP or high-profile private households
Qualified Teacher or strong Early Years/educational qualification preferred
Solid experience working within schools or educational settings
Passionate about early years education, child development and mentoring
Strong understanding of European manners, etiquette and social development
