Part-time – Governess/Tutor (Live out)

Part-time English-speaking Governess/Tutor required for B6 & B8, located in Moscow, Russia. Salary £2300 – £3300 per month. Start September.

A high-profile family based in Moscow is looking for a qualified and experienced English-speaking Governess/Tutor for their sons aged 6&8 years old to assist in their learning and development.

As a Governess/Tutor, you will be required to immerse the children in the English language through structured and planned games, activities, and play. You will be responsible for meeting the daily needs of the children with routines and offer learning at every opportunity. The educational focus will be to help the children master the international school program and develop and improve their communication skills in English. The children’s native language is Russian and they already have a good level of English language & experience of learning with English speakers. The boys are well-mannered, positive, and motivated, they will enter an International School in September.

You will be responsible for creating and monitoring their educational program and extracurricular activities and will be expected to liaise with parents, tutors, school teachers, and other members of staff. You will also escort the boys during walks and to additional activities, promote good behaviour, teach etiquette, and be a positive role model.

The ideal candidate will have relevant teaching qualifications and experience working with this age group in private households. A solid understanding of early years and primary education is required. The candidate will be an enthusiastic, intelligent, friendly & flexible professional teacher, who can engage the children in a fun and relaxed manner. The candidate will need to be not only a mentor but become a friend to the boys, share their sport and other interests, and build a trusting relationship with them. The household is fully staffed.

The working schedule will be 5 days on / 2 days off, working approximately 26 hours per week with one day being a Saturday. (During the week hours will be from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm). Flexibility is required. Additional hours may be required in the evenings.

The family is located in Moscow within walking distance from Minskaya metro station. 

This is a live-out position with no accommodation or visa provided. Only suitable for candidates who are already based in Moscow.

The salary on offer is £2300 – £3300 per month paid in Rubles (RUB 250.000 – RUB 350.000) and is negotiable depending on the skills and qualifications of the candidate.

Interviews will take place in July with the position commencing August 2024.
