The Role
Full-time English-speaking Governess required for B5 & G5, located in Singapore. Salary £60,000 gross per annum, live-in, start ASAP.
A Chinese family located in Singapore is seeking an educated and experienced Governess to join their family and assist with the daily care and educational development of their two children.
As a Governess, your main focus will be on the children’s education, immersing them in the English language and providing interactive games, play, and structured activities based on their current studies at school. You will assist with the children’s daily schedules and routines, promote good behaviour, and teach etiquette.
Both children currently require clear boundaries, and the parents are seeking a confident and experienced Governess who can establish and maintain high standards of behaviour and good manners. The family will employ two Governesses, with each Governess taking primary responsibility for one child. The Governesses will work independently with their respective child but will also work closely together as a team when required. A local Nanny will also be employed to provide additional support and take responsibility for the children’s general nanny duties.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Governess who is a qualified primary school teacher and has experience with children of this age. You must have a proven track record of introducing boundaries in long-term positions and have knowledge of the IB Curriculum.
The family has a fully staffed household. You will be required to work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the family home.
The working schedule is 5/2, working Tuesday to Thursday from 7 am – 9 am and then resuming duties when the children return from school at 4 pm until 8 pm. Weekends are full working days, working up to 10 hours a day.
The family travels on a regular basis, and you will be required to travel with them.
The salary on offer is £60,000 gross per annum, depending on your experience.
This is a live-in position with a private room provided within the family home.
