Full-time – Cook (live out)

Full-time English-speaking Cook Required for a Family located on the Scottish border, UK. Salary £40,000+ Gross Per Annum. Start ASAP.

A welcoming family based in Roxburghshire, UK, is seeking a friendly chef to join their team.

This position comes highly recommended by the family’s previous cook, who was with them for 12 years.

As a cook, your responsibilities will include shopping, meal planning, food preparation, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, and managing food stocks. The family has a productive kitchen garden that provides a variety of fresh produce, which they like to use, freeze, or preserve. Experience in food preservation would be advantageous.

In addition to this, you will be required to provide assistance to the housekeeper when required (turning mattresses, helping to move furniture).

The family prefers a relaxed dining style, except when entertaining guests, when a more formal approach may be required. Flexibility during these times is essential.

You will work alongside the housekeeper and provide support as needed to ensure the smooth running of the household. Teamwork and good communication are key.

The ideal candidate will be energetic, adaptable, and capable of preparing high-quality meals. They must be hardworking, reliable, and committed. Strong spoken English is essential, as you will need to communicate with the family and other staff members.

The household includes four dogs, and you may occasionally be asked to help with dog walking.

The working schedule will be 5/2, working approximately 40 hours per week. The family offer a relaxed working environment, with reduced hours while not in residence.

This is a live-out position, with a private two-bedroom apartment provided on the estate. The role is to commence as soon as possible.
