Full-time English-speaking Governess required for a 3-year-old boy in Chengdu, China. Salary £75,000 – £80,000+ gross per annum. Live-in position. Start ASAP.
A welcoming Chinese family is seeking an experienced Governess to join their household and support the care, education and overall development of their three-year-old son.
As a Governess, your primary focus will be English immersion and supporting the boy’s educational and academic development. As he attends an international school, you will complement his daily schooling by reinforcing his learning, assisting with homework and providing engaging educational activities tailored to his curriculum and individual needs. Through daily conversation, reading, interactive games and structured learning, you will create a natural English-speaking environment to strengthen his language skills, fluency and confidence. You will also encourage curiosity, independence and positive learning habits, while promoting good behaviour, European manners, etiquette and strong social skills throughout his daily routine.
The family also has a six-month-old daughter who has her own nanny. Your responsibilities will be focused exclusively on the three-year-old boy.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, career-focused English-speaking Governess educated to degree level, with a genuine passion for early childhood education. You should be engaging, adaptable and proactive, with the ability to create a stimulating learning environment and build a strong, long-term relationship with the family.
The working schedule will be five days per week, with two days off, working up to 10 hours per day. Flexibility will be required when travelling with the family.
The family is seeking a long-term Governess who is committed to becoming a valued part of their son’s upbringing and educational development for many years to come.
This is a live-in position, with a private room provided within the family home.
