A House Manager is an individual who is responsible for the overall running of the family home and staff within. Whilst their duties will vary depending on the size and number of residences, they act as the first point of contact to all the household staff. They are trained and experienced in administration and management. Many families employ a House Manager to remove the stress of running a fully staffed home.
DUTIES OF A HOUSE MANAGER
- Recruiting, supervising and training household staff
- Sourcing and overseeing the work of contractors
- Taking care of guests
- Arranging schedules and rotas

- Assisting with travel plans
- Organising dinner parties and events
WORKING HOURS OF A HOUSE MANAGER
Each family will create a schedule to suit the needs of the residence. It is typical for a House Manager to work 40 – 50 hours per week.
SALARY OF A HOUSE MANAGER
On average a House Manager will earn between £50,000 - £100,000 per annum dependent on age, experience and qualifications.
