A lovely family is seeking professional, confident, and child-centred English-speaking Governor to assist in the care, development and education of their 7-year-old son.
As a Governor you will be responsible for creating a structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate routine that supports the child’s academic progress, confidence, and emotional growth. You will provide daily academic support including homework supervision, reading, writing, and mathematics, while designing additional learning opportunities that stimulate curiosity, independence, and a genuine love of learning.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher, offering strong mentorship and academic guidance. The role requires someone who can balance discipline with warmth – maintaining clear expectations while fostering a positive, encouraging environment. You will act as a strong role model, guiding behaviour, supporting emotional regulation, and encouraging high standards in both academic and personal development.
The Candidate should be a confidend driver. The ability to speak Russian is preferred, though not essential.
The working schedule will be 6 days per week, totalling approximately 40 hours. Hours will commence one hour before school and resume from 3:30pm onwards. At weekends, one full working day will be required. When there is no school the schedule could be different but the amount of working hours will remain the same. Flexibility is much appreciated.
This is a live-out position with a private appartment provided for the candidate in each location. Sometimes, if the parents are not at home, the Governor may be required to stay in the separate room in the client’s house.
The family is currently based in Miami, Florida, in May 2026 the will move to Northern Europe (Sweden or Finland) and they are planning to return to Abu Dhabi, UAE, in September (if the situation allows).

Requirements:
Relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE/QTS preferred)
Experience working as a Governor within private households
Strong academic focus combined with mentoring ability
Calm, structured, and child-centred approach, flexible
Without bad habits
Valid driving licence essential
